Good Recipes
"While We Were Gone" is a cookbook fundraiser, sponsored by the
Brookings-Harbor Redshirts from Brookings, Or. It will be compiled of
recipes "most missed by our military". We are collecting recipes from all
present Service Members, Veterans, and mothers and wives of our military.
The cookbook will have your recipe (feel free to send more than one), the
name and rank of the service member, and the person responsible for the
recipe. You can also send a picture, in uniform, where you were stationed
and a short note telling why you missed this recipe so much. Sending in
recipes will help us to make this fundraiser a great success. This can be
done by email or regular mail. Deadline for recipes, May 15, 2011.

"BASH FOR CA$H" FUNDRAISER
The Brookings-Harbor Redshirts are having a raffle fundraiser, "
BASH-4-CA$H". We will be giving away a first prize of $2,000.00 cash,
second prize of $300.00 cash, third prize of $200.00 cash plus many more
non-cash prizes. The tickets are $5.00 ea. or 5 for $25.00. If you would
like to buy or sell tickets they are available by calling Sharon or Dave
Hitzman at 541-412-8968. or visiting us at our monthly meetings, our
packings, Saturdays Farmer's Market, the Azalea Festival, Fourth of July at
the Port and at various local business sights.
The drawing for the fundraiser will be 6 p.m. at our Annual 9/11 Concert and
Candlelight Vigil on September 11, 2011 in Azalea Park starting at 6 p.m.
The Brookings-Harbor Redshirts are a group of concerned citizens, many
Veterans and seniors, that send packages and special request items to our
troops, hospitals and Mash units in harm's way. We are a non-profit
organization, E.I.N. 71-1022032. There are no paid officers or employees.
All donation go to supporting our troops in harm's way. The Redshirts have
been sending packages for 5 years and have just sent our 5,000th packages.
Our volunteers are all about how much support and love we can give to our
troops. Our mission is to continue to send packages "Until They All Come
Home".
